Cencraft Prison is built around progression. You begin with access to the early stages of the server and gradually work your way upward by mining, selling resources, improving your equipment, earning money, ranking up, and unlocking increasingly advanced parts of the game.
Unlike traditional Minecraft Survival, your primary goal isn’t immediately finding land and constructing a base. Prison gives you a progression ladder to climb, with new goals appearing as you become wealthier and more established.
This guide explains the major systems you’ll encounter on Cencraft Prison and gives new players a roadmap for progressing efficiently without feeling like they need to understand everything on their first day.
Understanding Prison Progression
The basic Prison gameplay loop is straightforward:
- Enter a mine available to you.
- Mine blocks and resources.
- Sell what you’ve collected.
- Earn money.
- Improve your equipment.
- Rank up.
- Gain access to better progression opportunities.
- Repeat.
That sounds simple, but additional systems such as tokens, custom enchants, gangs, crates, prestige, auto-mining, and private mines give you more ways to improve your progression as you advance.
Early on, concentrate on the fundamentals. You don’t need to optimize every system immediately.
Start With Your Available Mine
Mines are one of the foundations of Cencraft Prison.
When you’re starting out, head to a mine available at your current stage of progression and begin gathering resources.
Your first objective is simply to build enough value to start moving forward.
As you mine, pay attention to how quickly your inventory fills and how much you’re earning when you sell. These two things become increasingly important as your mining efficiency improves.
You may eventually spend much less time thinking about individual blocks and much more time thinking about how efficiently you’re clearing sections of a mine.
Selling What You Mine
Mining only produces useful economic progress once you turn those resources into money.
Regularly sell the materials you’ve collected rather than allowing your inventory to remain full.
In the beginning, you may need to sell frequently because your inventory and equipment aren’t optimized yet. As you progress and improve your setup, the process becomes significantly faster.
Your earnings are what drive much of the early Prison progression.
Instead of treating selling as separate from mining, think of the two together:
Mine → Sell → Upgrade → Rank Up
That’s the core cycle you’ll repeat throughout much of Prison.
Ranking Up
Once you’ve earned enough money, ranking up becomes one of your major goals.
Ranks represent your progress through Prison and help move you into later stages of the server.
Don’t be discouraged if early ranks seem dramatically different from the amounts required later. Prison economies are designed around increasing your earning power as you progress.
A price that looks enormous when you first join may eventually become manageable once you have better equipment, stronger enchants, and access to more productive mining opportunities.
Focus on improving your earning ability rather than staring only at the price of the next rank.
Improve Your Pickaxe
Your pickaxe is one of your most important progression tools.
A basic pickaxe gets you started, but Prison progression increasingly revolves around improving how quickly and effectively you can mine.
As your equipment becomes stronger, the amount of material you can collect in the same period of time can increase substantially.
That increased mining speed translates into:
- More blocks mined
- More resources collected
- More items sold
- More money earned
- Faster rank progression
Because of that relationship, equipment upgrades should be viewed as investments rather than just cosmetic improvements.
Tokens
Cencraft Prison includes a token system that provides another form of progression alongside normal money.
Money and tokens don’t necessarily serve the same purpose, so don’t evaluate your progress using only your balance.
As you play, you’ll have opportunities to accumulate tokens and use them within Prison’s progression systems.
Before spending large amounts, understand what you’re buying and how it benefits your normal gameplay.
An upgrade that makes your regular mining significantly more productive can be more valuable over time than something that gives only a short-term benefit.
Custom Enchants
Custom enchants allow your mining equipment to become much more powerful than ordinary Minecraft tools.
These enchants are an important part of moving beyond the early stages of Prison.
Rather than viewing your pickaxe as disposable equipment, think of it as something you’re developing alongside your character.
As you gain access to upgrades, consider how each enchant affects your mining strategy.
Some improvements may increase raw mining speed, while others may affect efficiency, rewards, or other aspects of progression.
The strongest setup isn’t necessarily the one with the most upgrades. It’s the one that makes sense for what you’re currently trying to accomplish.
Don’t Spend Everything Immediately
One common mistake in economy-based game modes is spending every resource as soon as it becomes available.
Sometimes upgrading immediately makes sense. Other times, saving toward a more significant progression milestone is the better choice.
Before spending money or tokens, ask yourself:
Will this purchase help me progress faster?
If an upgrade meaningfully increases your earning power, it may pay for itself through future mining.
If it doesn’t improve your progression and delays your next major goal, you may want to save instead.
There’s nothing wrong with buying things simply because you enjoy them, but it’s useful to understand the tradeoff.
Crates and Rewards
Crates provide another source of items and rewards on Cencraft Prison.
Depending on what you obtain, crate rewards can supplement your normal progression and give you access to useful resources.
Treat crates as an additional system rather than the foundation of your progression.
Your long-term success should still come from understanding how Prison works and developing your own ability to progress.
That way, crate rewards feel like useful bonuses instead of something you’re dependent on.
Joining or Creating a Gang
Prison doesn’t have to be a completely solo experience.
Gangs allow players to organize and progress socially alongside other members of the community.
Joining a gang can give you a group of players to talk with, cooperate with, and work alongside while progressing.
If you’re creating your own gang, think beyond simply inviting as many people as possible.
A good group benefits from players who are active, trustworthy, and interested in working together.
As with any multiplayer system, be careful when sharing resources or giving other players access to anything valuable.
Progressing Efficiently
Efficiency in Prison doesn’t mean you have to turn the game into a spreadsheet.
It means recognizing where your time produces the most progress.
For example, if upgrading your pickaxe allows you to collect substantially more resources every minute, that upgrade may be more useful than saving indefinitely without improving your earning power.
Likewise, if you’ve unlocked a better progression opportunity, continuing to use an inefficient early-game method may unnecessarily slow you down.
Periodically ask yourself:
- Am I using the best mine available to me?
- Is my pickaxe appropriately upgraded?
- Am I selling efficiently?
- Do I have tokens I could use productively?
- Am I close to my next rank?
- Is there a system I’ve unlocked but haven’t started using?
Small improvements compound over time.
A Good Early Prison Progression Path
If you’ve just joined Cencraft Prison and aren’t sure what to do, follow this general roadmap.
1. Find Your Starting Mine
Begin mining with the resources and equipment available to you.
Don’t worry about advanced systems yet.
2. Learn How Selling Works
Fill your inventory and sell what you’ve collected.
Get familiar with the relationship between mining and your balance.
3. Work Toward Your First Rank Ups
Use your early earnings to begin moving through the rank progression.
Each milestone gets you closer to the more advanced parts of Prison.
4. Improve Your Equipment
As upgrades become available, begin developing your pickaxe.
Prioritize improvements that help you mine and earn more effectively.
5. Start Using Tokens
Learn what tokens can purchase and decide which upgrades complement your progression.
6. Explore Custom Enchants
Once custom enchants become relevant to your progression, begin building a pickaxe suited to how you play.
7. Participate in the Community
Consider joining a gang and interacting with other Prison players.
Experienced players can also be valuable sources of server-specific advice.
8. Keep Ranking Up
Continue the mine-and-sell cycle while improving your efficiency.
The faster you can generate value, the faster later progression becomes.
Prestige
Eventually, normal rank progression leads into one of Prison’s larger milestones: prestige.
Prestige represents progression beyond simply reaching another ordinary rank.
By the time you’re working toward prestige, you should already have a much stronger understanding of the Prison economy and how to mine efficiently.
Don’t rush through the earlier game solely because prestige exists.
The systems you learn while ranking up—equipment improvement, resource management, tokens, enchants, and efficient mining—are what prepare you for later progression.
Think of prestige as a long-term objective rather than something you need to reach immediately.
Auto-Mining
As you reach more advanced stages of Cencraft Prison, auto-mining provides another progression option.
This becomes relevant after you’ve already established yourself and moved beyond the earliest gameplay loop.
Automated systems can complement your normal progression, but understanding the underlying economy is still important.
By the time you’re using advanced features, you should know what resources and upgrades are valuable to you and where your progression is headed.
Private Mines
Private mines represent another advanced part of Cencraft Prison.
Instead of relying exclusively on the standard progression environment, private mines provide additional possibilities for established players.
These aren’t something a brand-new player needs to worry about during the first hour.
Work through the normal progression systems first. Learn how mines, selling, ranks, tokens, and enchants work before making advanced features your primary goal.
Having later systems waiting for you is part of what gives Prison long-term progression.
Set Your Own Goals
Prison provides a clear progression ladder, but that doesn’t mean everyone needs to play exactly the same way.
Your goals might include:
- Reaching the next rank
- Reaching prestige
- Building a powerful pickaxe
- Accumulating tokens
- Collecting valuable rewards
- Joining a successful gang
- Building wealth
- Unlocking advanced features
- Reaching private mines
- Competing with other players
Breaking large goals into smaller milestones makes progression much more satisfying.
Instead of thinking only about the final destination, decide what your next achievable goal is and work toward that.
Avoid Burning Yourself Out
Prison is deliberately repetitive at its core. Mining thousands—or eventually far more—blocks is part of the game mode.
You don’t need to reach every milestone immediately.
Switch between goals, interact with other players, work on your equipment, participate in gangs, and explore the different systems available to you.
Progress that takes time gives your upgrades and achievements more meaning.

Tokens and custom enchants improve your equipment. Ranks move you through the progression ladder. Gangs add a social side to the experience. Prestige gives established players a larger milestone to pursue, while auto-mining and private mines provide additional opportunities later in the game.
You don’t need to master all of those systems on your first day.
Start at your available mine, earn your first money, work toward your next rank, and build from there.
